This is probably from “First Art”, but I’m not unpacked enough right now to figure it out. We painted on paper with mineral oil, and then sprayed watercolors on top. The mineral oil kept the watercolors from soaking in, although after you spray them you have to brush the color off the oil, unlike with crayons. Probably because of the large size of the oil swatches, the watercolor can’t find its way off. Once we were done with these I didn’t want to put them in our portfolios, because they were pretty icky and greasy, but it was a fun project. I used mineral oil because it isn’t yellow like most oils.
